Hart Family Fund for Small Towns
National Trust for Historic Preservation

Supports and encourages preservation at the local level by providing seed money for preservation projects in small towns with populations of 10,000 or less.
Safe Streets and Roads for All Funding
US Department of Transportation

Supports planning, demonstration, and implementation projects aimed at improving safety for all road users.
Historic Preservation Fund Grant Program
Indiana Department of Natural Resources
Funding: $10,000 – $75,000

Supports preservation, rehabilitation, or restoration activities for historic resources currently listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
Encouraging Citizen Involvement Grants

Rural Microentrepreneur Program

Wish Local Empowerment Program

Supports Black-owned brick-and-mortar retail businesses across the US in covering operating expenses such as workforce retention, rent, inventory, customer research, and community engagement.

This program provides affordable funding to development essential community facilities in rural areas.
Community Heart & Soul Seed Grant Program
Funding: Up to $10,000 with a 1:1 cash match requirement
Provides start-up funding for resident-driven groups in small cities and towns looking to implement the Community Heart & Soul model.
Water & Waste Disposal Loan & Grant Program
U.S. Department of Agriculture Office of Rural Development
This program provides funding for clean and reliable drinking water systems, sanitary sewage disposal, sanitary solid waste disposal, and storm water drainage to households and businesses in rural areas.
Grants to Support Advanced Engineering Education and Collaboration

Supports initiatives that advance engineering and engineering education.
Agricultural Leadership Grant
CHS Foundation
Funding: $1,000 – $1,430,000
Supports programs that strengthen rural communities and prepares the next generation of agricultural education, leadership training, and career development for students from high school through early professional stages.
Seed Grants for Early Childhood Education Programs
Frances R. Dewing Foundation
Funding: $2,500 – $25,000
Deadlines: April 1, 2026 and October 1, 2026
Provides seed grant funding for new or experimental projects, including creative daycare initiatives, that have potential to create broader community or educational impact.
Principal Student Support Services Grant
School-Based Healthcare Solutions Network
Provides a fully funded mental health professional for each school campus who will deliver evidence-based mental health support services directly to students.
Children’s Book Project Program Grants
Funding: Up to $1,200 with a 2:1 match requirement
Deadlines: Every April 1 and October 1
Supports rural libraries to purchase new, quality, hardcover children’s books.
Employer Training Grant
Indiana Department of Workforce Development
Offers employers $5,000 per employee (up to $50,000) who is trained, hired, and retained for at least six months in select priority sectors.
Workforce Ready Grant
Indiana Department of Workforce Development
Program for individuals that covers the tuition and fees of qualifying certificate programs across Indiana.
Path to Pro Education Grants
Home Deport Foundation
Funding: In-kind support up to $10,000
Support is provided in the form of Home Depot gift cards that may be used to purchase tools, equipment, building materials, and supplies, or to support new or renovated training spaces for organizations offering vocational training in the construction industry.
Clean Water Act Section 319 Grants for Water Quality Improvement
Indiana Department of Environmental Management
Deadline: Notice of Intent to Apply due June 1, 2026; Application due September 1, 2026
Supports projects that address nonpoint source pollution and improve water quality across Indiana.
Labcorp Charitable Foundation Grants
Funding: $5,000 – $25,000
Supports community-based non-profit organizations advancing health, education, and well-being.
Mothers in Medicine Fund
Zorya Foundation
Funding: Up to $12,000
Provides childcare support to women working in healthcare who are mothers or primary caregivers.
