PHOTO GALLERIES: Uplands Made 2026

Running a business as a high school student is no easy task, but across the Indiana Uplands, young entrepreneurs are stepping up to the challenge every school day. That shared experience brought these young Uplanders together on April 14 to learn from one another and sharpen their skills.

Regional Opportunity Initiatives (ROI), in partnership with Brown County Schools, hosted the fifth annual Uplands Made Student‑Run Business Conference, welcoming 269 students and advisors, alongside a number of ROI staff and industry and community partners from across the region to explore both the excitement and the challenges of running a student-run business (SRB). This year’s keynote speaker, MSP Manufacturing President Johnny Goode, shared lessons from his own work journey and his experience leading a manufacturing company and navigating the responsibilities of business leadership.

Just like in their businesses, students took the lead throughout the day, facilitating conversations in various breakout sessions about topics including 3D printing, marketing, auto screen printing, and sales strategies. With notebooks in hand, students asked thoughtful questions and openly shared their experiences. From personalized coffee cups, signs, and shirts to freeze-dried candy and fresh-baked cookies, students also showcased their businesses during the Student Expo.

Together, these students are building more than businesses. They are building confidence, forging connections, and shaping a student‑led network that reflects the energy of a region on the rise.

The Edgewood High School Mustang Marketing team and Brown County Schools District Communications Coordinator Morgan Young also attended Uplands Made to capture moments from the day. Check out their photos in the galleries below.
