Led by a regional board of directors, ROI is affiliated with the Community Foundation of Bloomington and Monroe County as a supporting organization.
The mission of Regional Opportunity Initiatives, Inc. (ROI) is to support economic and community prosperity in the 11 counties of Southwest Central Indiana (now called the Indiana Uplands). ROI supports this mission primarily through education and workforce initiatives and strategies for quality of place development.
Education and Workforce Initiatives
ROI is works with regional leaders through a series of education and workforce initiatives focused on connecting K-12 and postsecondary schools with industry to create a workforce that is prepared for the demands of employers.
As part of this effort, ROI conducts an annual occupational needs assessment within the region focused on key sectors in the Indiana Uplands: advanced manufacturing, life sciences, and national security and defense. The results of the occupational needs assessment inform a wide range of workforce and education initiatives that are being deployed across the region.
