This webinar explored the various methods and strategies for creating quality, energy-efficient, affordable housing in rural communities. Special presenter Jon Racek discussed innovations, trends, and best practices in housing design and construction that have been successful. This session is not only for those interested in innovations in housing, but it is also a community-wide opportunity to learn about ideas and options for planning more rural housing in your community.

Jon Racek is an architectural designer and educator. He is the Program Director of the Comprehensive Design area and a Senior Lecturer at the Eskenazi School of Art, Design, and Architecture at Indiana University. He is the founder and co-director of the ServeDesign Center at Eskenazi, a design outreach center, and the founder of Play360, a non-profit that trains communities in the developing world to design and build educational playspaces. His work has been published in such publications as TIME magazine, The New York Times, and Wallpaper. He recently completed the design and construction of a low-cost housing prototype in Paoli, IN.
