Janice Childress, Indiana Association of Realtors

Janice shared trends from December 2021 on the Indiana housing market and the effects of the pandemic, including home sales and listings, adaptive re-use & home improvement programs, and down payment assistance programs.

Despite the substantial increase in the cost of buying a home, Indiana remains one of the most affordable places to the live in the United State. In 2019, U.S. News and World Report ranked Indiana as the 4th most affordable state for housing. In 2020, Indiana was 11th in the cost of living, and the 6th most affordable state overall. Janice Childress is the Vice President of Data Analytics for the Indiana Association of Realtors®. She has been in this position since September of 2019, developing a reporting system for the Indiana housing market, Realtor® membership in Indiana, and the Real Estate Certification Program. Prior to working for the Indiana Association of Realtors®, Janice spent over 20 years researching issues in student success at Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis and Ball State University. Janice holds a Master of Science in Human Computer Interaction from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Purdue University.


Jeff Goldin, Goldin Appraisal Group

With over 18,000 appraisals, Goldin Appraisal Group has over 20 years experience serving in the Monroe County Market area. Jeff is is the owner of Goldin Appraisal Group and specializes in single family residential, condominiums, planned unit developments, residential investment, and land.


Judy Sharp, Monroe County Assessor

Judith A. Sharp, Monroe County Assessor, is Level 3 Certified Assessor/Appraiser. She has been County Assessor since 1991. She served as Bloomington Township Assessor from 1987 to 1990, and  President of Indiana County Assessors Association 1999-2001 and 2008-2020. She was recognized as Assessor of the Year in 2001 and has served on the Association of Indiana Counties Board of Directors since 2019.
