The National Association of REALTORS® Community Preference Survey (2017) shows that Millennials and Gen Xers are much more likely to prioritize walkability and a short commute to work.

In this session, we highlighted communities that are taking advantage of vacant lots and redevelopment opportunities close to community centers.

About Mike Sudol

Mike Sudol’s first career focused on business and technology consulting with 20 years in within the mobile/wireless industry. In addition to starting and growing his own companies, he’s also held executive and corporate leadership positions with Lucent and Motorola. In 2007, he launched Firebrand Wireless, with offices in Illinois, Taiwan, and China. In 2010, he returned to the U.S. after 5 years in Taipei and Beijing. Mike then decided to “retire” to Spencer, Indiana, where he and his wife became active in efforts to revitalize the Spencer Community. About Julie Collier

Julie Collier is a Vice President for Development at Flaherty & Collins. She is responsible for coordinating and managing the community development process, from project planning through stabilization and asset management. Her responsibilities include organizing housing and mixed-use development efforts, project management, assisting with grant funding and tax credit procurement, collaborating with community groups, and preparing and evaluating financial projections and project budgets.
