Despite a snowy start, the Regional Opportunity Initiatives Annual Report to the Region warmed up the French Lick Resort Event Center on Feb. 18, bringing together leaders and changemakers from across the Indiana Uplands region to celebrate progress and innovation.
Kicking off the day, ROI President and CEO Tina Peterson shared inspiring success stories, highlighting innovative ROI strategies that have driven growth in education, workforce, and quality of place. A panel discussion on national talent and workforce trends followed and provided valuable insights into the region’s future. The panel featured Pathemy Strategies CEO and Founder Tim George, TechPoint Sr. VP for Talent Strategy and Partnerships Dennis Trinkle, and Indiana Chamber of Commerce Sr. VP of Strategic Partnerships and Impact Todd Hurst.
The morning and afternoon were filled with insightful breakout sessions bringing educators, employers, community leaders, economic development organizations, workforce development professionals, nonprofits, and more together to think about the future of our region.
Dr. Angela Lewis, Technical Director at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, was this year’s keynote speaker. Following her address, ROI presented eight Indiana Uplands Innovation Awards to honor education, workforce, economic development, and quality of place accomplishments in our region.
