The future of business is here in the Indiana Uplands — and it’s student-run!

More than 250 student entrepreneurs and educators from 12 schools gathered in Jasper on April 9 for ROI’s 4th annual Uplands Made Conference. This event provides students with opportunities for learning, networking, presenting, and showing off their products and skills.

Student-run businesses are made possible in the region through the ROI’s Ready Schools Initiative and meaningful community collaborations between school districts and businesses in their communities. Each Uplands student-run business has its product focus developed within the local community context.

Through their businesses, students learn logistics, customer service, design, production, marketing, teamwork, and public speaking skills, all while creating a deeper understanding of the real world of work—and the powerful combination of hard and soft skills needed in the Uplands workforce.

Thank you to Vincennes University Jasper for hosting and taking photos of this year’s conference.
