Governor Eric J. Holcomb and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation have officially announced Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI) 2.0
ROI has selected Barr-Reeve Community Schools, Crawford County Community School Corporation, and East Washington School Corporation for participation in the fourth cohort of ROI’s Ready Schools initiative.
Regional Opportunity Initiatives has selected four projects to receive Digital Towns funding to improve digital equity and inclusion in the Indiana Uplands.
ROI conducted a signing day experience for students and employers participating in the second cohort of the UpSkill Work and Learn program.
On May 16, representatives from Regional Opportunity Initiatives (ROI), Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington, and Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division (NSWC-Crane) hosted a special recognition lunch at Naval Support Activity Crane for the seven inaugural participants in the Supply Chain Management - Department of Defense Military Certificate program.
Two talent development programs have been awarded READI funding to prepare high school students and adults for regionally relevant, high-demand careers in the Uplands.
ROI is now welcoming proposals from school districts for Ready Schools and Digital Fabrication Labs. Ready Schools proposals due June 3. UpLabs Proposals due May 26.

ROI has opened a grant opportunity to implement strategies that improve digital equity and inclusion in the Indiana Uplands. The Uplands Science and Technology Foundation (USTF) is a nonprofit research foundation dedicated to enhancing the vitality of WestGate@Crane Technology Park. Niehoff will lead USTF and advance its mission to grow the WestGate Technology Park into a nationally-recognized innovation community.
The City of Bloomington will receive $1.8 million in Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI) funding for construction on Jackson Street as part of the new Hopewell neighborhood.
City of Bloomington Utilities (CBU) will use READI funding to replace 1,570 feet of clay sewer pipe, improving flow from South Patterson and downstream along an arterial corridor.
In addition to the $25+ million in funding provided by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, the Indiana Uplands region has pledged to provide $1 million in READI funding to the Monon South project.
