Session Description

In this session, we will dig into housing opportunities and challenges in the Indiana Uplands. The Indiana Uplands Regional Housing Study published in 2019 provided a road map to identify and meet housing priorities. Since the publication, the housing market in the region has changed substantially. The Indiana Association of REALTORS will present a housing market overview, and RDG Planning and Design will unveil fresh data to be included in the Housing Study Update.

Session Presenters

Mark Fisher serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Indiana Association of REALTORS® where he is responsible for implementing IAR’s mission in service to 21,000+ members in the Indiana real estate industry.

Prior to his role with IAR, Fisher served as Chief Policy Officer for the Indy Chamber; responsible for the overall development and implementation of the Chamber’s policy and political initiatives while focusing his efforts on Economic & Community Development, Transportation, Local Government, and Fiscal Policy matters.

A native of Bloomington, Mark has a bachelor’s degree in sociology, certificate in business, a minor in economics from Indiana University- Bloomington, and a Master’s of Public Affairs from Indiana University- Indianapolis.

Amy Haase, RDG Planning and Design. Since joining RDG in 1999, Amy has managed numerous projects, including comprehensive plans, housing market studies, downtown and corridor redevelopment, neighborhood revitalization, park master plans, and transportation studies. She is a recognized leader in housing and comprehensive planning who has spoken at conferences in Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska on issues related to attainable housing. Amy is a trusted leader in developing plans and leading public engagement processes that fit the needs of communities of all sizes throughout the Midwest.

Ron Walker is the Vice President of CFC Properties, a Cook Group property development and management company specializing in historically and architecturally significant structures. He also serves as President of Workforce Housing LLC, a newly developed Cook Group Company created to address the lack of workforce housing for Cook employees in communities across south-central Indiana.  Cook Group is a family company founded in 1963 with a diverse business portfolio that includes companies working in life sciences, business services, resorts, property management, and medical devices.
