Session Description
ROI proudly welcomes David Rosenberg, Executive Vice President of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, as our 2023 Keynote Speaker. Mr. Rosenberg will talk about economic development trends that will affect the future of the State of Indiana and the potential that READI 2.0 may have for regional advancement and prosperity.
ROI will also present the 2023 Indiana Uplands Regional Innovation Awards to honor education, economic development, and quality of place accomplishments in the Indiana Uplands.
Session Presenters
David Rosenberg serves as Chief Operations Officer and Chief of Staff for the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.
David is an accomplished leader in the state, having served as Mayor Greg Ballard’s Deputy Chief of Staff. In that role, David managed billions of dollars of development and projects, streamlined operations throughout the enterprise, and represented the city at the City-County Council and Statehouse.
He also served as Operations Officer at the largest school district in the state, Indianapolis Public Schools. David oversaw the reorganization and modernization of transportation, directed more than 9 million square feet of real estate assets, and led the sale and development of the Bottleworks District.
Most recently, David served as a consultant for a multi-client firm, advising and advocating for clients at all levels of government, including a focus on K-12 education, facility financing, and operations.
He serves on the boards of Visit Indy, Boy Scouts of America and KIPP Indy. David is a recipient of the Indianapolis Business Journal’s ‘Forty under 40’ recognition.
David is a graduate of the Indiana University Maurer School of Law. David, his wife, Ali, and kids, Will and Lily, reside in Zionsville.
Tina Peterson is the President and CEO of Regional Opportunity Initiatives (ROI), a position she has held since the organization’s founding in 2015. In her role with ROI, Tina works collaboratively with organizations to advance economic and community prosperity across the Indiana Uplands, an 11-county region in southwest central Indiana. Through regionally relevant and demand-driven initiatives, ROI focuses on industry cluster strategies, education, workforce, and quality of place as essential determinants for regional success. ROI recently served as the lead for the Indiana Uplands READI planning process, which resulted in a $30 million grant to catalyze economic growth in the Uplands region.
Tina currently serves as a member or an advisor on several boards including the Applied Research Institute, Uplands Science and Technology Foundation, Radius Indiana, Crane Regional Defense Group, White River Military Coordination Alliance, Indiana Work and Learn, Institute for Workforce Excellence Advisory Council, Indiana Philanthropy Alliance, Bloomington Dimension Mill, Bloomington Economic Development Corporation, Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce, CDFI Friendly Bloomington, and the CSX Advisory Board.
