The Indiana Commission for Higher Education has selected 28 organizations from across the state for the Career Coaching Grant, including Regional Opportunity Initiatives (ROI). This opportunity will provide students with comprehensive resources to make informed decisions about college and careers.
“To assure Indiana’s talent pipeline is aware of and prepared for high-demand careers, it is vital for Hoosier students to receive quality, consistent, and individualized career coaching support,” said Indiana Commissioner for Higher Education Chris Lowery. “These grantees will play a pivotal role in helping realize this goal and inspire students to pursue higher education and career paths right here in Indiana.”
The Indiana General Assembly created the Career Coaching Grant during the 2023 legislative session to better align the state’s system of career coaching and navigation, appropriating $25 million to the fund for the current biennium. ROI has been awarded $1,766,265.00 for its Career Coaching Grant to expand opportunities in the Indiana Uplands.
“ROI is incredibly grateful to receive the Indiana CHE Career Coaching grant and for the investment in the Uplands region,” said Vice President for Talent Development Michi McClaine. “We will be working closely with K-12, post-secondary, and employer partners in the Uplands to make real-world career connections for students, and this grant will allow resources to directly impact students’ post-secondary and career decisions.”
