Youth Apprenticeship Week Profile: Amorenio Martinez

During his initial year as an apprentice at Indiana Safety and Supply, Amorenio Martinez has already gleaned valuable insights and lessons.

“I learned the process of what a company does to run a business, and I am learning the importance of finding a balance in life,” said the Washington High School junior. “It provided me with a real-world understanding of my career and opened the doors to new opportunities.”

Indiana Safety and Supply Vice President and Operations Manager Erin Yoder applauded Martinez on his eagerness to learn those lessons and how the company works.

“Amorenio has been an absolute joy to work with,” Yoder said.

“He is so eager to learn every job and task possible in our company. Amorenio has played a very important part in keeping up with our price changes – not only from our vendors but also to our customers. This is our first time working with ROI and it has been fantastic.”

His eagerness to meet new people and explore a possible career path is why Martinez decided to apply for an UpSkill apprenticeship.

“This is not only your first step into improving yourself but also the first step into building a career,” he said.
