Youth Apprenticeship Week Profile: Brayden Hudson

This is Brayden Hudson’s second year as an UpSkill apprentice. He works for SAIC, a military defense contractor in Bedford.

He said he wanted to apply for an apprenticeship with UpSkill because he wanted to open up more career opportunities for himself. The best part about UpSkill has been the “invaluable experience” Hudson has gained working for SAIC.

Since working at SAIC, he has received a certification in computer-aided design.

“I am seeing the real-world application of my career firsthand,” he said.

As a senior at Bedford North Lawrence High School, Hudson is nearing the end of his high school career. He plans to work at SAIC over the summer before he heads off to Purdue University College of Engineering in the fall. Hudson said working for SAIC helped “cement my career choice” to work in engineering.

He said the opportunity has been “priceless.” He encourages fellow students to “go for it” and apply.
