Youth Apprenticeship Week Profile: Owen Snyder

Ask Owen Snyder the highlight of his academic career so far and his answer is straightforward: His UpSkill apprenticeship at German American Bank.

“Being an UpSkill apprentice has taught me more than I ever could have imagined,” said the Edgewood High School senior.

Snyder works at German American Bank.

Not only has it taught Snyder valuable lessons he can use for the rest of his life, but it also has influenced what he wants to do after high school. He recently received a direct admission to Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. He plans to major in finance starting this fall.

Due to his school schedule, Snyder had limited availability to work at German American Bank, but that did not stop him from diving in and building relationships with his team and customers, said Wes Ault, German American Financial Center Manager.

“Owen has been a great asset to our team,” Ault said. “Owen is punctual, conducts himself in a professional manner, eagerly supports our clients, looks for opportunities to learn, and assists fellow team members when needed.”

With those skills in mind, Ault said they are excited for Snyder to work full-time this summer.

“The expanded exposure to our team and clients will allow him to continue to grow in his current customer service specialist role,” Ault said.

“We are thrilled to have him as part of our team and the continued partnership with ROI and the UpSkill program.”
